Hello Friends,
In June 2017, two teenagers became lost in the Paris Bone Crypts. It was
three days before rescue dogs found them. They were taken to hospital and
treated for hypothermia caused by the cold, damp conditions inside the catacombs.
Not much information is known about how and why the boys were in the
crypts. But you can imagine they had a horror-filled stay. Becoming lost in the
dark, narrow passageways, and unable to find their way out. Surrounded by the
bones of six million people, and wondering whether they would soon join the “Empire
of the Dead - Arrête! C’est ici l’empire de la Mort”, that's located beneath Paris.
Apparently, “Dark Tourism” is a trend around the world. People seek out
places of death and deathly things. Shudders!
