Who knew romance
books were “guilty pleasures”?
Amazon UK has released a list of best-selling
e-books for the year.
From The Telegraph
news article, Mills & Boon romance books made the list as well as other
genres. 18 of the top 20 authors were women.
Whereas a list of physical books compiled by Waterstones are
significantly more highbrow and features four times as many male authors. Seems
there is a difference between the books bought in print versus digital.
Paula Hawkins’s “The Girl
on the Train” and EL James’s “Grey” appear in the top three of both paper
and e-book lists. But the difference between the books we put on show and those
we download suggests that e-book reads can be “guilty pleasures”.
Here’s the link to the article;
I like both paper and digital books.
How about you?
Cheers,
Ashlyn
